Taiwan has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a UK-based defense industry group to establish a framework for cooperation and exchanges in the drone sector.
The agreement with ADS Group was concluded last Thursday during the Farnborough International Airshow in the UK, according to a statement from the Taiwan Excellence Drone International Business Opportunities Alliance (TEDIBOA).
TEDIBOA noted the deal represents the first formal collaboration between Taiwan’s and the UK’s drone sectors, marking a milestone in bilateral industry engagement.
Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation President Chuang Hsiu‑mei signed the agreement with ADS Group CEO Kevin Craven.
Under the terms of the MOU, both parties will establish a platform for industry exchange covering drone research, development, and commercialization, while supporting participation in each other’s international business initiatives and identifying new opportunities for cooperation.
According to the alliance, the partnership is intended to strengthen bilateral investment, foster deeper industry collaboration, and enhance the global competitiveness of both Taiwan’s and the UK’s drone industries.
Chuang Hsiu‑mei stated that Taiwan could serve as a reliable and highly capable manufacturing partner for the UK’s aerospace and defense industries in the Asia‑Pacific region.
Kevin Craven noted that the new exchange platform would enable both sides to fully leverage their strengths in technology development and manufacturing, supporting continued industry growth.
ADS Group is one of the UK’s leading industry associations, representing more than 2,000 companies across the aerospace, defense, security, and space sectors. Its subsidiary, Farnborough International, organizes the Farnborough International Airshow.
TEDIBOA added that it has established partnerships with 15 drone organizations across nine countries.
