Cambodian businesses are preparing to take part in the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2025, following an information session organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh on Friday.
Held ahead of the Expo’s October 15 opening at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition in BSD City, the information session drew strong interest from local entrepreneurs to grow their business networks and explore potential collaborations with Indonesian partners.
The expo, organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Trade, is the country’s leading exhibition for both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) engagement.
“Spanning three main sectors—Food, Beverages, and Agriculture Products; Manufactured Products; and Services and Lifestyle Products—TEI is set to attract a diverse group of exhibitors and visitors from around the world,” according to a statement released by the embassy.

In the previous year, TEI attracted more than 40,000 attendees, featuring 1,400 exhibitors and 8,042 buyers. The event facilitated transactions totaling $22.7 billion, highlighting its importance as a key trade gathering in the region.
Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia Santo Darmosumarto reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to being a reliable, long-term supplier of products that cater to the needs of Cambodian consumers during the session. He urged Cambodian businesses to take full advantage of the Expo, emphasizing the value of engaging with high-quality products and services and the chance to build strong, mutually beneficial partnerships with Indonesian firms.
“This year, the Expo will not only feature an impressive range of products but also include B2B business matching sessions, trade missions, international seminars, business counselling, and opportunities for signing MoUs, LoIs, and contracts,” he added.

Although many Indonesian products are already established in the Cambodian market, embassy officials believe there is still significant untapped potential for Indonesian goods to expand their presence further.
As reported by the General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE), Cambodia and Indonesia recorded $704,307 in bilateral trade during the first eight months of 2025, positioning Indonesia as Cambodia’s 10th largest trading partner. Over the past two years, bilateral trade has steadily exceeded $1 billion each year, demonstrating a strong and expanding economic partnership between the two countries.
