Vietnamese and Chinese enterprises have signed a strategic agreement to launch a new maritime trade corridor, titled ‘Two Ports, One Route,’ which will directly connect Weifang Port in China’s Shandong province with Long An International Port in Tay Ninh province, Vietnam. The move is designed to increase two-way cargo flow and deepen bilateral trade ties.
The cooperation agreement involves three key partners: Long An International Port from Vietnam, SPG Bohaiwan Port, and Bohwa Shipping from China. The initiative will focus on strengthening port operations, maritime transport, and integrated logistics services.

Key components of the plan include the expansion of container and dry bulk cargo routes, the development of international warehousing capabilities, and the provision of support services such as customs, finance, and insurance. A dedicated logistics hub for machinery exports and agricultural imports is also being planned.
The collaboration aims to establish an integrated logistics ecosystem that enhances cost efficiency, streamlines operations, and supports a sustainable and environmentally friendly supply chain between the two countries.
Cui Tiecheng, Deputy General Director of SPG Bohaiwan Port, expressed confidence that the project would serve as a model for economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and China, while also boosting global exports of high-value products from both sides.

Huynh Van Son, Vice Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, highlighted that the fixed maritime shipping route will not only accelerate trade promotion but also reduce logistics costs, thereby increasing the competitiveness of local businesses.
Long An International Port, located in Vietnam’s southern gateway, connects the Southeast economic zones, Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta, and global shipping networks. With a capacity to handle vessels up to 70,000 DWT and equipped with modern logistics infrastructure, the port is emerging as a key transshipment and logistics hub for southern Vietnam and a driver of sustainable regional economic growth.
