Morocco has reached a new milestone in its agricultural export performance, with raspberry exports to the Middle East hitting 700 tons, three months before the close of the 2024/2025 export season, according to data from EastFruit.
This record-breaking volume, achieved within the first nine months of the current marketing campaign, reflects the country’s growing dominance in the regional berry market. Key factors behind the surge include Morocco’s strong market presence during off-season periods in competing regions, consistently high fruit quality, and a focused trade approach targeting Gulf nations.

The typical export window for Moroccan raspberries runs from August to June, with shipment volumes peaking between October–November and February–May. Notably, October 2024 saw over 200 tons exported, more than the combined total of the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons.
At present, Moroccan raspberries are exported to seven countries in the Middle East, with the UAE and Saudi Arabia leading as top importers and accounting for approximately 75% of total regional shipments. Exports to Kuwait have tripled over the last three seasons, while shipments to Jordan have doubled. The UAE alone recorded a 67% increase in raspberry imports during the same period.

Morocco’s market share in the region has grown markedly. In the UAE, it rose from 7% to 15%; in Kuwait, from 0.2% to 5%; in Qatar, from 6% to 10%; in Bahrain, from 6% to 22%; and in Jordan, from 0.3% to 22%.
In addition to its regional success, Morocco has also risen to become the world’s second-largest exporter of fresh raspberries as of 2024, trailing only Mexico. This dual achievement underscores the effectiveness of Morocco’s strategic agricultural policies, enhanced cultivation methods, and efforts to diversify export destinations.
