Korea has officially launched the 2025 K-EXPO: All about K-Style, an international trade show series aimed at promoting its cultural industries on the global stage. The initiative, announced Thursday by the Korea Creative Content Agency (Kocca), is part of the country’s broader strategy to achieve a cultural export target of 300 trillion won (approximately $219 billion).
The inaugural edition of K-EXPO will take place from August 9 to 12 at the Delta Hotel and Meridian Hall in Toronto, Canada. A total of 61 Korean companies spanning the media, beauty, and fisheries sectors will participate, presenting their products and services to North American buyers and investors.

Organizers, including multiple Korean government ministries and affiliated agencies, have arranged B2B matchmaking sessions to help domestic firms establish new export channels. In addition to business-focused programming, the event will feature public exhibitions, culinary and beauty showcases, and K-pop performances.
K-EXPO is supported by key ministries overseeing culture, agriculture, trade, health, oceans, and small businesses, reflecting a coordinated national effort to promote Korea’s soft power.
Following the Toronto event, K-EXPO will continue its international outreach with a second edition in Spain this September and a third in the United Arab Emirates in November.

“Organic cooperation between content and related industries is essential for expanding the export base of K-content,” said Yoo Hyun-seok, acting president of Kocca. “Through K-EXPO, we will strengthen the presence of Korea’s cultural industries in the global market.”
As Korea expands its global cultural footprint, K-EXPO may quietly evolve into a cornerstone of the nation’s long-term soft power strategy, one that blends business with cultural expression on a truly international scale.
